2003 GSXR 600 CHASSIS with a 750 MOTOR
So I went and finally looked at this "2004 gsxr 750" that was on sale for 5500, turns out it's a 2003 600cc body with a new 750 engine in it. It also has a few minor scratches on the side. 2 questions. 1. Is it normal for somebody to put a 04 750 motor in a 03 and why would they do that and is that bad for somebody buying the used bike? 2. there any way to get rid of scratches on a bike without repainting it? thanks

The engine was changed for only one reason the previous engine was blown up. It probely dropped a valve, cause: hard riding and no respect for the bike.
The 750 engine was all the person was able to get and i can't see it causing not much of a problem but it has scratches on it. Are they minor or cracks? Good thing about the sports bikes is you can put stickers on them to cover such marks. You should find out how the scratches were made and give the bike a good look over just incase it went down the road.
