Default 2003 VTX1800C Test Ride

Well, I took a VTX1800C out last week, and I have to say I was very impressed.

Right now, Honda has a test ride going at some dealership...and if anybody wants to feel a bike that really moves, go give it a whirl at your local Honda dealership. I have been looking for a bike for a while and I'm really likeing the VTX - might be hard not to have a Harley - but a ride is a ride is a ride.

Smoothe ride, nice sound - damn good power and not too bad on the wallet. Right now Honda has a 0, 0, 0 for qualified buyers. Also, no payments for 3 months. After the ride I was chatting with the salesman about aftermarket parts, since I didn't think there were many for the VTX...boy was I wrong. About everybody and there mother is making stuff for these now. Some sweet stuff ladies and gents....I'll have to keep you all updated on the demo rides.

Default VTX 1800

My brother-in-law has a 2002 vtx 1800, I've ridden it a few times...quite a bit of power, nice bike. As for accessories your right, he's added quite a bit of stuff to his. I'm still trying to get him to get a good exhaust system for it.....I would love to hear it with a set of V&H's, Samson, or some other exhaust on it. I bet it would sound good.

When I was at the dealership, a dude with a 2002 rode up and had Jardine Drag pipes on his.....damn did it sound sweet. Sounded like a muscle car on steroids.

There's a sound section at:

http://www.kingofthecruisers.com

That has VTX sounds with a bunch of different pipes on them.

Later.

Default Mongo

I rode past my local Honda dealer today, as I passed by, I noticed on their sign they said "$1000 toward accessories on puchase of new VTX 1800'S", sounds like a good incentive for someone thinking of buying a new VTX 1800.

Yeah, the one salesman said you can get the 0 down, 0% financing and no payments for 3 months....AND either $1000 in accessories or $1000 off the sticker price of the bike. Pretty sweet deal if you ask me.

I own a 2000 Valkyrie tourer and thought I might like a VTX, till I took one for a ride. For my money, the Valk is faster, smoother and nicer riding than the X. Nice bike, though for a Harley wannabee.

Another sales guys I know around here has a heritage, a valk, and a vtx and says out of all of them he rides the valkryie the most. He said it's just a great bike and well balanced.

If you're looking for a fast bike with "the look", check out the V-rod.

Oh the rune, that thing is quite a machine. Never ridden one. When I went to the Honda dealer looking at the VTX's - they had 5 runes....yeah 5. I asked if I could just sit on it. Damn, that's a machine. I don't know if I ever rode one if I would get off of it. It's just freaking huge.

I also like the Rune. Very expensive, but what isn't these days.

you know Mongo I thought they were big too until i sat on it, the size disappears under you. It's well balanced and feels like a good size. Well, until you look out at the headlight which is waaaaaaaaaaaay out there and pointy. So cool. I'd ride one in a sec if I had that kind of moolah hangin around.

Personally I don't think the V-Rod is that fast... Just my .02.

They do look pretty cool lowered with a 250 tire and drag bars though. That's what we are doing to Loosemeats. Ordered the CFR 250 kit last week.

For a Harley, they're it as far as "fast" goes.

A slightly used V-rod will be waaaaaaay less than a Rune and is surprisingly affordable. E-bay has lots for sale all the time.
