Default Airbox to pods?

I have a 77 Hondamatic 750 that I can't find intake boots for. What if I take out the airbox and intake boots and substitute with K&N pods? I know I will have to get rejetted. Will I have to change exhaust? What else is needed? Does this plan make sense? What can I expect???

bumping... I'm new here, I don't really know how long to expect to wait for an answer. I'm used to very busy forums.

if you only need new boots get new ones or some from a national salvage site. the can of worms youre thinking about opening isn't worth it.it's not just about getting bigger jets you must also reduce the air to pull the extra fuel it goes on and on.it was put together with plenty of thought and to change it will be truly non productive. but it's your bike do what you want to do. leonard
