I was riding today at around 75mph when I noticed my oil light was on. When I got stopped the motor was making a lot of noise that it should not be making. I think that it suffered catastrophic oil pimp failure. I had plans of rebuilding the motor this winter anyway, but I guess that I will be starting a little earlier. This will be my first H-D (1997 Sporty) rebuild so you guys, and gals, in the know be prepared for some forth coming questions about parts and procedures. Having a bike down in the prime of riding weather creates a vacuum. In other words IT SUCKS!
