Unhappy Break Pedal Removal

I bought a Kuryakyn extended rear brake pedal (model 9061) for my 97' Road King. I removed the floor board, pulled the cotter pin & washer, but I cannot get the clevis pin out of the linkage. I have tried turning it, tapping it out but it will not budge. The pin holds the pedal to a
hydraulic plunger that is part of the brake system. The Mfr. instructions say remove the flr board, pull the cotter pin, washer & clevis pin, remove the old pedal & install new pedal in reverse order. It sounds so easy but I cannot get the pin out. I would appreciate any advice.
thanks Rod

Put a socket over the head of the pin, a very small C-clamp on the socket and other end of the pin. Tighten the C-clamp and it will push the pin into the space in the socket.....works every time

By the way...you forgot to say hello......(but I will )...Hello, and welcome to BikerForums.....also there is a small fee of 1 case of very cold beer for answers to tech questions (preferrably Shiner Boch)

Talking SUCCESS!!!!

Hi & thank you for the welcome!
The Kuryakyn tech support advice didn't help and another BB didn't help me either. As soon as I read your suggestion I knew it would work! So at 11:30 pm I wander out into my 18 deg. F Minnesota garage, grab my only little C-clamp and pop the sucker right off!!
It is amazing how easy it is to do something when you know the secrets......of the MASTERS.
I thanks you, thank you, thank you for your wise advice. (I hope my last two suck-up lines will appease you until the Shiner Boch arrives).
Thanks Again
Rod

Hey hey hey, no picking on the unemployed guys around here!!

RubeKing, welcome. Glad the advice from FBR worked for you. He's good for one correct answer per year, so he's done for 04!! Don't believe anything he says, except that Shiner Boch is great beer, and Mongo is cool. Ahh, we kid, we kid. Hope you enjoy your stay, and I know your pain with the midwest weather right now. I think we hit 12 yesterday.

I am overwhelmed with your kindness............almost in tears.............
NOT!
But I do appreciate some good sarcastic banter evey now & then so I will definetely keep tabs on this site and learn more.
I just bought my 97' Road King in Oct. 03. I had been riding my Honda V45 Magna & other Honda MC for years. In Sept 03 I rode my father in-laws Fat boy to the Harley 100 year party. After that me & my wife both said we need a Harley. A month later she calls me from Green Bay and said she put a down payment on a friends Road King. The rest is history..........What a woman Ehh???
I know MC but I don't know much mechanically about Harleys so....... Until Later............

Rubeking, welcome aboard - glad FBR could help you out. I was gonna just tell you to go grab a beer and a bigger hammer, but everybody knows that's just how I work.

WooHoo - I will hunt you down and eat your dog! I haven't been around too much b/c I was dealing with the other mo-tards out in society - then I come back and get **** from my guys. Man I can feel the love in the room (queue the cricket noise).
