Question Newest Twin Cam Saga.....

OK, here is the deal.... Down and dirty..... My TC Rear cam bearing failure is growing .... Turns out that the Crank Pinion and bearing are both scarred beyond repair. Crank is going to Milwaukee today... MoCo wants to see it to either repair or replace.... I hope replace. My question is to you all that are interested in this....

I have an opportunity to go Big Bore.... Which way to go is my question.... It is a 2k FLHTCi.... Looking at SE 204 Cams, SE Big Bore Jugs, Hi-Comp Slugs, SE Heads with SE II Flash for TC88 Touring, SE Breather and possibly a Baker 6 speed that a guy might trade me for my stock 5 box (He wants a kicker on his).

I am just looking for some input.... I do not have to pay for the labor except to have the cams pressed... The motor is completely apart and it is also a warrenty issue. Your input is greatly appreciated and needed.

I would suggest more inches for more power then add the cam of your choice. I have the 95 inch jugs with 211 cam and it is wonderful for turing. I know I should have bought the Road King but I have a Fat Boy now and my next ride will be a Road King. I also had heads ported and polished and high Comp pistons (forged) installed. SE 6200 RPM ignition to keep from pinging or distroying pistions due to low Octane gas. I have just completed a long trip (just shy of 6000 miles) and no trouble at all from the motor. For Turing the 203, 204 or the 211 cam might fit the bill. I roll with the 211, but it might be a little ruff on the idle but it is still not as bad as the 257 cam and has good low end torque. Peak in the power band is at 105-106 Ft Lbs of torque and around 95 horse power at the Rear Tire. I would like to have the 6 speed trany for the overdrive though. I just might wait until the urge for a new Road King drives me to HD dealer. By the Way Harley Davidson of Sacramento did my work and they did an exelent job. No leaks, replaced cam bearings (were going bad), and found other potental trouble ahead of the game.

I am still mulling it around... But here is what I am PROBABLY gonna do..... SE Stage II 95" (Flat-top H/C pistons, SE Heads with 211's. What I am concerned about is the flash that H-D has for the Touring Model.... What cam profile is it geard towards... I am not going to do the Forged Pistons (Too much Compression for my taste right now). And I am not looking to do the PC IIIr addition (Still too quirky).
I am figuring on close to 95 HP and almost 90ft/lbs of torque to get me moving. This is just a starting point for my "Bagger from Hell" conversion.....

Any other input is greatly appreciated from all..
