i have an 82 GS650L and i was wondering if it is possible to take off the stock pipes/muffler and put a long crome hollow tail pipe on instead?would the motor run right?would i have to rejet?i like the bike but hate the electric like sound.

 

You can change the pipes and not make any modifications, but you'll be risking losing power. Really, if it's a major modification you'll have to adjust the bike somewhere. If the 'electric' sound is bugging you, I don't know if changing the pipes will do much except make that sound louder.

Have you searched the internet to see if there were any modifications for your bike?
