I bought a Custom Chrome tombstone tail light conversion for my '96 Road King. I found last night that it will not fit my bike without some major modification. The problem is two fold: 1) the big bar that bolts to both sides of the fender rails and holds the license plate bracket (welded to it) is in the way, and 2) the stock turn signal bar can't be used with it.

So my questions are 1) has anyone fitted one of these tail lights to a Road King, 2) what did you do about the bar I mentioned (doesn't look like it should be eliminated, looks too beefy to be just be a license plate mount), and, 3) how about some suggestions for alternative turn signal locations?
