Hi all,

I'm new to HD and plan to buy my first bike next spring. One of the bikes I have my eye on is the Dyna Super Glide because of its value and would like to customize it for touring by adding detachable bags, fairing and full windshield. That way I could take off the touring accessories when I don't need them.

Does this make sense? Any other suggestions?

Thanks, all.

Thumbs up Welcome

The SuperGlide is a great value for a big twin Harley. It is also very easy to adapt to cross country riding. I have the detachable windshield, and backrest, and like being able to change the look of my bike in seconds. For bags, get a set of "ghost brackets" for them and you can take the bags off in seconds also. A friend of mine has a SuperGlide, and he and his wife have taken a few trips on it, and they think it fits their needs nicely. Good choice for a first Harley, good luck.

Good versatile bike you're looking at. I always think of the Dynas as like the middle kid of the family...always overlooked.

I've seen dynas customized to the max - they can truly be molded to fit the individual and are of the bigger variety. Economical, beefy, and flexible....you can do whatever you want with that bike. Good choice.
