Default Government screwing up Sturgis

I heard on another forum that the government in South Dakota wants to take away property from the farmers to build a better road for the rally. I have been going to the rally for over 20 years and I know about the dirt road on the government land to get to the Chip.
The MAN don't want to use government land and make the dirt road better. So, why not screw the farmers and take their land instead !!!!
Welcome to Russia.

They can kiss my butt. I'm not going to help the MAN screw those farmers.

So long, Sturgis. I'll ride in America instead.

So you are saying that casue there is a road on Gov ( I assume BLM) land that they want to make better for the rally, they have to take away the farmers land.

Hmmm... where do you read this? I would be interetesed in following up on that story.

I heard about it when I stayed near the Chip last year. You are right it being BLM government land. I drive on this road which is now a gravel road. It is just before the Sturgis exit and comes out near the chip.

I called the guy who rents out his house in Sturgis and he filled me in. The state government doesn't want to pave the road on BLM land, so they are wanting to screw the farmers and make a longer road to bypass around the BLM land.

The guy in Sturgis tells me some of the land has been owned by the ranchers for over a hundred years. One of the routes even covers up the General Custer trail.

The state figures it's ok to screw the farmers instead of using their own BLM land? What the hell is the BLM land for anyway?

I just don't feel right going to the rally if it means I'm helping to screw the farmers. I'm not going this year.

Someone needs to let HD know what the state goverment is doing to the farmers in the name of HD.

I got an address that I wrote to: Monica.Heller@state.sd.us
