I picked up a Harley shirt from Doug's in Florence, SC today that I'd be willing to donate since I'd always be able to get another. Send me a pm on how to get it to ya. Sorry to hear about the accident... Hope this helps!

I also scored you a poker run shirt that was donated to your cause by the local hospital from their run this past Saturday. Sorry but I had no choice in sizes as it was the very last shirt they had. Will be putting your care package in the mail tomorrow. Hope this helps.

Hardbite,

I mailed a package to you today, 4-17-05. It is an envelope with two shirts in it. They are not the greatest, but I have little access to HD stuff here. It will take 7-14 days to get to you. I hope that it makes it to you in time for the run. Take Care and be Safe.

Default Kaathleen "Blackraven" Is Out of ICU

Posted: Mon Apr 18, 2005 11:58 pm Post subject: Kathleen is out of the ICU

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey Everybody,

Our girl is out of the ICU! She's still not feeling all that spunky so she would like for all of you to hold off on visiting her until she is up to it.
She hopes you understand and will respect her wishes.

I rode my motorcycle to the hospital tonight. I got there right at 8:00. Pam had told me where I could find Kathleen. Kathleen is in a private room (Room 2) on the 8th floor. When I got there, the door to Kathleen's room was closed. I opened the door and went in. Kathleen looked like a little girl in the big bed. She asked for a leg massage. I opened the compression sleeves on her legs and removed them. Then I got the apricot oil that Worm had brought and massaged Kathleen's left leg starting with her foot and working my way above her knee. I carefully massaged Kathleen's right leg, starting with her foot, but didn't go above her knee. Her right thigh is still very bruised - I don't know if the bruising is from the accident, or from the surgery - Maybe it's a little of both. We talked while I massaged for over an hour and a half.

Kathleen was able to move to the special chair earlier today. They did not have her stand at all. They just moved her to the chair that starts out looking like a bed. The chair adjusts to move the patient into a sitting position. Kathleen said she did okay with the chair.

Kathleen's dinner arrived around 8:30. It was salad, potatoes, wax beans, salisbury steak and raspberry sherbet. She didn't want to eat just then so her dinner was placed to the side.

Kathleen has 8 staples holding the incision together above her right knee and 3 staples to the right side of her knee. They look like they're healing pretty well - especially the small cut. I wouldn't be surprised if the staples come out soon.

Have I told you about Andre, Kathleen's new friend? Andre is Kathleen's colostomy bag. He's from France and he has a mustache. I know you think we're nuts, but I think it was Kathleen's idea to give her colostomy bag a name. I thought of the typical colostomy bag names like Stinky & Pigpen & Fred. Then Worm came up with Andre, and Andre just suited him perfectly.

Oh.......both Kathleen and Pam told me how much Kathleen's medical expenses are as of midnight last night - $280,000!

I stayed at the hospital until 10:15. A nurse came in to give Kathleen some good drugs to help get her through the unpacking & repacking. Another nurse came in to remove Kathleen's packing and clean her up and repack her. Kathleen told the nurse exactly how the ICU nurses changed her packing. I stayed to make sure the nurse didn't hurt Kathleen. She did a great job. She was gentle and didn't hurt Kathleen at all. The large open wound at the top of Kathleen's right leg doesn't look as bad as I expected. It's gaping open about an inch at the widest part., but the skin looks pink and healthy.

Only 2 days until Kathleen's birthday so keep those cards and good wishes coming. I am guessing that flowers and/or balloons are allowed on the 8th floor, so if any of you are interested, please send some.

I will let you all know as soon as Kathleen is up to having visitors.

Christine
