Well , the first thing I noticed was a lot less colors to choose from. Last year the FatBoy came in 12 different colors compared to 6 this year , and I can't believe there aren't more two-toned colors. Also they come with a stock 150 rear tire....I like that for sure..more rubber means more traction , and rear braking surface , which equals a safer ride , and that's a good thing. Other than that , didn't see too many surprises, Oh the "Screaming Eagle" Duece , and Road King's are really nice with the frames painted to match the sheet metal , but I don't think their worth the 26,000 & 28,000 price tag's OUCH !!!. I guess Willie G. isn't worried since he sells every one he builds , and there are only 3,000 of each built , so if you have the $$$$ it's probably not a bad investment if you kept one in "cherry" condition.
Oh another thing , since Black is now an option color.....what the hell is the standard color ???? Primer gray ???....I bet they will get asked that question a lot this year

Hey, don't let me get you in trouble Mongo. I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing I have all this spare time at work. I know my lady doesn't care for it, gives me plenty of time to search for goodies for the scoot. Espically with a b-day coming up!!!

FBR, There are quite a few less colors. I do like the silver and black combo, and there are some new flame kits available which are kinda neat, but quite limited. I know the two tones weren't too popular around here, most are solid. Limited quantities are a good idea allowing Willie to drive the price up. You know there are people standing in line to ****** these up. They went nuts with all the 100th anniversary items. I like the fact they are starting to build motors from the factory. They need to keep up with the Big Dogs, and West Coast Choppers type bikes. I think they are missing a huge customer base there.

Take Care

Phat-Boy , I agree it's good to see the 95 & 103 c.i. motors coming from the factory , about the colors....ha-ha , I could have had any of those 12 colors last year when I got my 2002 , but all I wanted was Black. By the way , I checked out your web page , that is one fine-*** FatBoy you have , I love the "ghost flames" , If I ever get my sheet metal painted , I'm gonna get the "ghost flames". Take care Bro , hope your getting some riding in , it's been raining every day here in the Houston area...really sucks , its like monsoon season or something.... see ya , FBR

Funny, I just checked out the new bikes for '03 and then came here...The new ones are sweeeeeet! I was lookin at the new Road King Screamin' Eagle of course, since we just bought the '02 and was bummed to find out the "NEW" options they have that we didn't get! Like the hydrolic clutch set-up and tour pac option. We had to purchase one and have it painted locally. Thank God the painter was really good and nailed the paint!
All in all tho...I continue to be amazed at the willingness of the factory to try and give the aftermarket a run for their money. The prices are rather exorbinate, but have you checked out prices on the jap stuff? Man...I was shocked that it is as much as the H-D stuff! The Screamin' Eagle bikes are high but there are alot of extras on thos rigs. Didn't stop us tho...we managed to add more

Thanks FBR! I appreciate the comments. I figured I might as well get what I liked the first time. Can't even see the flames in the garage, or at night, but in direct sunlight they are plain as day! If you decide you are ready for some flames, let me know. I know a killer painter here in town. Does a ton of work. I don't know if you guys know about this mural. I think it's pretty popular, but check it out. My friend did it.
http://www.hawki-hd.com/mural.htm Even more impressive in person, it's all airbrush!

I'd like to get one of the new 103's. Little more performance never hurts. Riding as much as I can, it's been awesome around here lately. I'm at almost 1200 miles, so I'm due for the 1000 mile checkup. I know the primary needs tightened, you can hear it chatter off the start, so I'm not riding too hard until I get that done. In town mostly.

Isn't that always the way it works Sober! As soon as you buy something, they do something else to it, and you miss out. I've ridden a lot of bikes with the hydrolic clutch, and man is it nice. Either way I'm sure you are more than happy with your new scoot. Such is life!

Take it easy, and if it's easy, take it twice!
