Default Hey Phat-Boy...here are things to do in Pittsburgh

I know you'll be going to the game that weekend, and I wish I could make the pilgrimage out to the burgh to hang out with ya, but if you have some other time, here are some funs things to do in Pittsburgh.

Ride the Duquesne or Monongahela Incline. Also known as funiculars, these "inclined planes" were built in the late 1800's to transport immigrant workers from work at plants along Pittsburgh's rivers to their homes atop Mt. Washington. While they still serve as transportation for area residents, they are also a great way to enjoy the beautiful panoramic views of Pittsburgh. The Duquesne Incline, still utilizing the two original 1877 cable cars, is also a working museum. ******* awesome view and a little bit of history to go with it.

Go to South side and enjoy the nightlife of East Carson Street on Pittsburgh's historic South Side, where old buildings have been converted into bars and local bands provide great entertainment.

Have Lunch or a late night bite after a bar sting at Primantis. Get your favorite sandwich served up complete with the coleslaw and fries rolled right in! Primanti's offer a wide variety of delicious sandwiches, with the cheesesteak being their most popular. Several locations exist around the city, but the one in the heart of Pittsburgh's historic Strip district is the best. Also to note, if you're bar hopping in South side, there's a Primanti's right there.

Spend an afternoon at one of the Carnegie Museums. Visit the Museum of Natural History, with one of the best dinosaur collections of anywhere in the world, or enjoy more than 250 exciting, hands-on science and technology exhibits at the Carnegie Science Center.

Walk around downtown and take in all the history and sights.

Go on a river boat tour of the city. Kids of all ages will enjoy Lolli the Clown as the Captain presents a moving portrait of our great river city. A wide variety of other cruises are also available on the boats of the Gateway Clipper Fleet, including dining, entertainment and narrated sightseeing tours which truly capture Pittsburgh. If you have the time, I especially recommend the Lock and Dam cruise.

Thanks man! I gotta ask though, did you write all that, or copy and paste from a brocure? If you wrote it, you should be working for the city! Well phrased and quite delightful!! lol!! Thanks again, all sounds so cool. Too bad we are only there 2 days. I'll come back out again though. I got a feeling I'm going to like Pittsburgh a lot!!

hahah....no I actually can write quite well. I asked a friend in Pittsburgh the best things to do and he sent an email with some of it and I added some to the list. He should be the one writing for the city, but he's just a damn lawyer that loves the city.

Hope you have fun.

Default What can I say ???

Okay, so we don't have the rich history that Pittsburgh does, but Houston does have great Bar-B-Que, Mexican food, and plenty of ice cold Shiner Boch !!!(come on down with Phat-Boy in Nov. Mongo) and we have plenty of "babe-a-licious babes"..you guys will love the Texas girls !!! so don't worry Phat-boy you just get your *** down here to Texas, and I'll show ya....and bring Mongo with ya, and we can have a "BikerForums" conference....lol.... and remember the best part we get to ride our scooters all year long !!!

FBR, man I can't tell ya how anxious I am to get down there and check out the Texas Honeys!! Bob and I are looking forward to a good time. I think you'll deliver.

Devil Hog, PM me your number and I'll give ya a buzz when we get out there. We'll be arriving on December 6th in the evening, and hanging out all day Saturday, and going to the game on Sunday the 8th. Heading home from the game, so no time to party Sunday night. Would be great to hook up for a few though. We are staying at the Hampton Inn on McKnight Road. That a nice place?? We figured it was closer to the stadium, but help me out if it's a dump!!
