Default Mongo vs. Phat-Boy

Just to fill you all in. Myself and Phat-Boy have challenged each other to a weight drop contest.

When both asked the same question "How much do you weigh?" we can each reply with "A tad over 250."...and we both need a little motivation to drop some of that 'tad'.

Today is the start of that challenge and we're using this forum to do the official weigh ins and keep track of the entire thing (should be interesting). This challenge will run until the first day of the new year, which for all of your morons and chinese calender folk is January 1, 2003. The winner will be determined by the highest percentage of weight lost....meaning it isnt's about who drops the most.....figured like this:

weight at end of challenge / start weight = x

1 - x = y

y * 100 = Percentage of weight lost.

Pretty simple...hopefully motivational....and I hope we're both lighter come '03.

Official first weigh in to start the challenge:

265 on the dot (actually a line).

Taken this morning on a medical scale in the gym....fully naked.

Thumbs up PHAT-BOY's working on it...

When we ate at Hooter's he ordered "steamed shrimp", and he didn't drink too many Shiner Boch's, cause he was trying to cut back so he could beat you Mongo !!!......sounds like a fun little competition you guy's got going. Good luck to both of you

Wow, already at the gym!! Impressive. I don't have a scale at home, so I'll have to run to Target or something on lunch to weigh in. Got delayed in Dallas again yesterday, so didn't get home until late last night. Too tired to run around looking for a scale. I did start yesterday though. I'll weigh in later, just gotta find a damn scale!!!!

Default A tad over 240

Ok kids, you may or may not believe this, but I just went down to the local gym on lunch and borrowed their scale. Medical scale, no shoes, but wearing jeans, and a sweatshirt, I weighed in at 265 on the line as well. Now, I don't know what jeans and a sweatshirt weigh, but that's my number. We can say 264, 263 if you want to take off for the clothes, but the scale was in the middle of the gym, and I wasn't stripping for them!!! A nice brisk run on the treadmill for me this morning. Feeling good.

Good morning everyone, it's time for the Monday morning weigh-in. Last week went pretty well for me, might have been better without the kids birthday party. Here are my results.

AS of 7:20AM Central time this morning, buck naked (that's my stage name!!! ) I'm in at 257 lbs.

Default 11/27 weigh in

I missed my weigh in on Monday, cause I felt like hell, but I did have the opportunity to work out and get my accurate weight. Actually the gym here now has a handheld body fat percentage machine that I used also.

The official weight: 259

Tomorrow that will probably be up around 270 after dinner and a long day of beer and football, but I'm hitting the gym again today to knock off a little more before the day of Thanksgiving. Later.

Congrats on your weight loss.. Pretty impressive, but not to put a damper on it... That was primarily Water weight that you shed.. these upcoming weeks are gonna be getting tougher... you will experience 2 lbs at a pop... average.... Don't get discouraged... One or 2 pounds per week is whwer you should be, anything more than that, and you will be starving your muscles for nourishment...

MONGO, get your Fat *** out and whup this boy!!!!!!! Pennsylvania Braggin' Rights are at stake!!!!!!!!!!!

you mean, underneath all this I have muscles???!!!! Sweet man! I can't wait to see them.

Sorry about the buck naked thing, didn't mean to offend!!! Water weight or not, it's less than I was before. I know the weight loss schtick, I just need to stick with it. Hard to believe in June of 2001 I weighed 220 lbs. Shot that to hell when I met my lady, she can cook!!!! Fat and Happy is fine with me.

My update. Haven't been around, but it looks like all that damn hiking for the first few days of hunting paid off. Got my fill of deer, 2 doe and one 7 point buck....and I hiked around 5 miles per day with my Dad. I can call him old man, but when we get out hunting, that bastard really moves up a mountain (smokes me) always impresses me.

Anyway, yesterday got back to the streets and put 3 miles on my feet along with a nice stop at the gym.

Official weigh in: 258.

Thought I had more out of me, but I'll have to grab the body fat percentage machine to see what's going on.

Take care all.

Default Holding Pattern

Damn holidays anyway. I managed to hold steady at 257 as of this morning. Didn't gain but didn't lose. Actually, probably gained, but worked it back off on the treadmill. Trip to the Burgh this weekend may not help, but we'll see. Maybe the Hotel has a treadmill. Anyhow, that's my update, pretty uneventful.

Have a great weekend all! I know I will!

Believe it or not...we're almost at the end of the weight drop contest. Phat boy that time has passed quick....you wanna extend the contest another month or so....or do you wanna do the weigh in?

Unfortunately, I could either way in today or friday since I have some traveling to do........but I'm laying it out there.

We could extend this - since we landed in the middle of the holidays?

Default OH YEAH!

After stepping on the scale this morning, I'm all about extending the contest my man. We'll weigh in on Jan 31st and determine the winner from there if that sounds cool. Payout at the 100th anniversary party like we talked. Sound cool?

I've been staying off the scale and focusing on my beer/cheesesteak intake. Hopped on today and thought I'd post an update and let everybody know that we're still doing this contest...and will weigh in on Jan 31st.

As of 10 minutes ago...I weigh 248lbs.

I'm still pushing to drop some more...but with the birds in the heat of the playoffs I don't know how that will work.

All I have to say is:

Do you accept personal Checks?????

I'm not moving much, but plan on it now. Better get on the treadmill, I can still catch you as long as the Eagles are still playing!!!

Allright kids, latest update, as of this am I am at 251. Mongo and I are having so much fun with this, we are extending again. Seems to be a motivator, expically now that he is officially kicking my ***. I've been able to clean up my eating habits, but not hit the treadmill, that starts next week. Hopefully the combination will do the trick for me.

Keep is rolling man.

Right before my run today I weighed in at 243. With rugby starting again, it might be hard to keep my weight down...but we'll see how I fair.
