Alright boys and girls I need to shoot the **** and get some opinions. As some of you may have seen, I'm selling my heritage. My reason for selling is that so I can free up some cash so I can take care of some stuff around the house and also start on my second chopper over the winter.
I've been getting good responses from online ads and other outlets...of course everybody wants a bike dirt cheap, but I've just been presented with a offer that's got me thinking hard. Basically a trade with some money....sooooo....I'd still have a bike to ride (a damn nice chop) and I'd get some cash out of the deal to work with.
Of course the wife just rolls her eyes and says "It's your decision" so I need some bullshit to be thrown around in the forums....sell the bike outright get the big wad of cash to work with, or trade for an older chop and get some cash (he hasn't specified yet) to play with?
Any thoughts? I haven't posted details because this just came up this morning...but as soon as the offer starts to firm up I'll post links to an online 'feature' of the bike with pics and let you know the proposed amounts of cash...etc.

Here's my .02 for the Mongo man. I think this all hangs on weather the chop this guy has is remotely close to what you wanted to build this winter, or if it's just something to ride. If it's something you'd want for the long haul, go for it. Take the cash and make a few mods and enjoy. If not, I wouldn't trade. I think you'll have better luck selling the Heritage than a chop. Have the guy sell the chop and get you cash for the bike is my advice. There are a lot of unknowns in trades. I had a lot of people try to trade me for my dragbike, but I held out and she sold for what I needed to get out of her. If you aren't in a financial situation where the Heritage needs to go, I would wait for a cash buyer.
I would be curious to see this bike though, post the pics when you get 'em. Oh, and ask if he's looking for a helmet too!!

I guess I should have stated that I have some potential cash buyers for the Heritage....so you see how my situation is kind of off.
Here's the link to show off the chopper:

I understand what you're saying Phat-Boy and have given it some further thought this past weekend. I thought about why I was selling the Heritage and then thought of what I would get out of trading with cash for the chop. Needless to say, they don't match up cause I was really selling the Heritage to build over the winter and possibly buy a new Hawg in the spring next year. Doing the trade just wouldn't accomplish those things, but I would come out with some dough and one hell of a chopper. Check out the bike, and more comments are always welcome.

That's a nice bike. I see your delimma. Personally, I'd take the cash and build one myself, but I like that stuff. Keep you occupied over the winter. Then maybe you can get a new Harley next spring. Those choppers aren't much for highway riding from what I hear. Let us know what you decide.
