Default Mongo's Misadventure

So, I haven't been quite as active on the boards this past week, but there's a reason for this.

No, I wasn't doing time or even pre-occupied with work or anything else. Mongo almost bit the dust last week and I've been slowly recovering.

As sissy as it sounds, I'm allergic to bee stings. Haven't had a reaction in a long time. Hell I've been stung a bunch over the past 20 years and had no reaction. Worst one I ever had was when I was 7, but I almost bit it then too.

Doing my dangerous yard work, I ran over a nest of hornets. Well, they got a tad pissed and swarmed me. About 5 stings later, I realized I should probably tell somebody before I just passed out in the yard. Told the wife and she just got huge-eyed at me. Apparently, it had already started to swell. While she was talking me into going to the hospital my throat started to swell shut. Not fast, so I wasn't freaking out, then I tried to get up and I started having chest pains. NOT COOL. Anaphylactic shock was in full swing.

Since we only live a block away from a hospital, she took me and luckily there were a few good guys to help me into the place. I was taken right back and they started the drug mixes. At this point I was totally out of it, almost feels like you're super drunk.

Fast forward to 4 hours later and I was all good to go. Heart monitors and continued drugs for a while but I'm recovering all right. As of tomorrow morning I'm all clear.

Glad you are OK. Guess you have to be more careful next time you tackle those dangerous yard chores.
