Default Now I'm gonna bitch

Alright, some of you may have noticed my post about the new Honda motorcycles. Well, I stopped by and looked at the VTX this past weekend and got the low down on the new valkyrie that's coming out in 2004. I love motorcycles and these new Honda models really are interesting to look at. Since it was raining on Saturday, I couldn't take them out....but I promised the dealer I'd be back for some 'test' rides.

So I meet up with some buds and a few of their friends saturday afternoon just cause I had some time. They were throwing a few back and watching some games, and of course I brought up the new bikes from Honda. Most of these guys were HD riders, and honestly most respect the other bikes and will probably end up going with me to check them out again.

There were a few that nearly slit my throat when I brought up 'another brand'. I just don't understand how people can praise the harley and not give another look at other bikes around. Sure I like the hogs too, but hell if I'm not taking those Hondas for a test ride before I buy my next bike. Point is, I love motorcycles and don't understand the people out there that claim harley is about freedom and spirit. Motorcycling is about freedom and spirit, loving the open road and grabbing any chance to take a ride that you can....I don't think it matters what brand name is under your ***. So many cyclists are brand riders, hang out with the same brand people....I'd like to start a club that's about the ******* joy of riding. No bad *** images, just a bunch of people that like to have a motorcycle underneath them whenever they can.

Might have pissed some people off, but oh well....these forums are about sharing experiences and opinions and getting to know other riders better.

Stepping off the soapbox now....thanks for listening! Mongo out...

Arrow I'm with ya....

I went for a ride Sat. morning with a couple of friends...one was riding a Kawasaki 800 classic, and the other a Kawasaki 750. These two guys are two of my best friends, and riding partners. I have been on rides of up to 12 bikes with friends, and my Harley was the only one in the bunch. Point is....these guys accept me and my Hog....so, what kind of hypocrite would I be if I didn't accept them for what they ride? And, come to think of it, I would be riding by myself a lot !!! I think the people that only ride with, or associate with others that ride the same brand, or style of bike are only showing how, narrow, or small-minded they are.....to me it's pretty much the same ignorance that racist, and bigots show for people of different color, or religion...(wow, who's on the soap box now?)....lol. But as I've stated before here in our forums..The thing I find most refreshing, and enjoyable about "BikerForums" is that everyone is welcome, and respected here, no matter what you ride...from a 50cc Moped to a V-8 Boss Hoss your welcome here at "BikerForums". I ride a motorcycle...it just happens to be a Harley...

P.S. Mongo.....To me "BikerForums" is exactly what you talked of in you words above...at least to me it is.

Arrow I'm with him

I totally agree. Browsing other boards and seeing how people are stereotyped is just rediculous. I'm in it for the riding. I ride a Harley because that is my choice, and I can afford it. These things get expensive, and not everyone can. I am fortunate! I come from a background of Sportbikes. I've had Honda's, Yamaha's, Suzuki's, and now I have a Harley. So does this mean you won't like me when I take my 72 Honda 350 out, but if I am on my Harley I am accepted? I am the same person on each bike. I like to ride, and some days I just want to take the Honda out.

I'd like to start a club that's about the ******* joy of riding. No bad *** images, just a bunch of people that like to have a motorcycle underneath them whenever they can.
Let me know what the dues are for the new club, I'm in brother!
