Hello everyone, just found the forums on google and decided to join. I inherited a 1983 Harley Davidson Roadster XLS when my father died, I was 3. The bike has since become my most valued posession and i am in the process of restoring/revamping it.

Welcome to the boards. I too inherited a bike, from my uncle, and I know what you are talking about. In the restoration process right now as well, only mine is a 72 Honda CL 350. Enjoy the boards and stop back often.

What part of Iowa you from?

SWEET!!! That's one of my all time favorite bikes! I want to build one as a street legal vintage racer look.

Welcome to the forum. Good luck with your restoration, I'm sure you will enjoy the work almost as much as the finished product.

Welcome to bikerforums. Any restoration project can be fun, but yours seems really great since there's some major history with the bike. Good luck to you, and I hope we can all share in the rebuilding of your dad's bike.

Take care.

sorry for the late response and thank you for the link. that bike in the link is EXACTLY like mine, same paint and all. the only difference i spot is the backrest, mine is just a simple chrome one. those are also the stock pipes on the bike.

as for my pipes, my bike is in storage at my uncle's house in tennessee, where i used to live, because we have simply no room for it up here. im buying them this winter and putting them on when i go down.

Welcome aboard and enjoy the work on the bike. Sorry you dad isn't around to help with restoration. Guess he'll always be there in your heart.
