Default what to do?

first of all id like to just say that im new to this forum and motorcycles in general but i do have an interest in learning about bikes. My girlfriends mom has offered me an '81 honda cb 750 custom that hasnt been riden in about 4 years. ive gathered that ill probably have to rebuild the carbs and replace the tires but also the magneto is broken (sorry i cant be more specific here but like i said im new and dont know much). anyway i had the idea of maybe just replacing the old engine entirely but i know that would cost a lot of money and being 17 money is not the easiest thing to come by. i appreciate any help you guys can offer

well a free bike means that all you have to do is pay to get it road worthy, cheaper than buying one even one that is an 81
I have an old '81 rat bike I and a brother are fixing up too
I suggest you take a Motorcycle safety course ( most will supply a small learner bike) and you will learn a few things I learned hard way over years.

look on internet for a repair manual for your bike will help loads

making friends with a good "wrench" wont hurt either
good luck
