I'm moving to San Diego to go back to school and want a bike to get around town while I'm there but one that will also be good to take down to Costa Rica in a few years where I'm buliding a house down a pretty rough road in the jungle. I found a 1987 KLR 650 Dual Sport on Craigslist for $1950.00 with about 15,500 mls. Is this a good bike for this purpose and at a good price? I'm 30, 6'2'', 160 lbs, have a wife I might want to put on the back now and then and haven't riden a bike since I rode my friend's as a teenager. Will this bike be alright to get into it? Or is 650 to much?
