Default 1964 or not

I have what says on the engine a xlch, this is a 1964 sportster, I was told that it was not called "xl" in 1964. Has the motor been changed ? Is it a 1964? Is it a 1964 xlch? What the ? Is the dude wrong?

I believe they were XL's. I believe there were two models, the electric start XLH and the kickstart only magneto spark XLCH with the C standing for "Competition" model. The Sportsters where pretty hot performers back then.

Not sure but I think klx768 was right. They were probably XLs.

HI GUYS...

I really need help with this. When i enter my forums in my PC the page wont display but when i entered it in my laptop it worked fine...
Also it is not working in my cusion's house both PC and LAPTOP...
The page is all white with nothing in it. So is there any HELP please.

id like to help but what do you mean by "will turn over but will not crank"? does the engine spin "to easy, a bit fast"? check compression?
