Question BEST 95-kit for 2006 Dyna

I want my new Dyna to be reliable but more than stock. Looking for input on the best cams for good low to mid range performance. Harley dealers like the 211 but outside shops use Andrews 26G. Is this really that big of a decision?. Was told head work is essential. Wait, GOOD head work is essential.

Hi stbob! I have 95" wide glide with andrews 26G and am very pleased with them. I had the SE 211 up until a couple of months ago. The 211's didn't seem to come until around 2800 and above. The bike rerally smoothed out ariund 75 mph which I can't ride here due to the 65 speed limit here. It also seemed abit sluggish riding 2 up.

The andrews are much more suited to my riding style with plenty of torque to get out of those nasty situations around the cagers. I would have a good independent do your work as the HD stealers appear more incompetent every time I see them.

I have my mods listed in my garage (I think) on this board.

Welcome aboard Leon

right, I thought I could bend a deal on the purchase of my new bob if I put together work at the dealer. NOT!
You are the 2nd person that told me I'm not going to be happy with the 204 or 211 cams. All the independents use 26G. I'll wait a while b/c there are not available yet for 2006 dyna's. new cam design. What's your take on how the new EPA laws are going to afect me. Hate to dump $2K into a bike just to put it back stock again.

Default Epa

I don’t know what state you’re in but if its one with the safety inspections then you may be screwed if your 2006 bike is no longer EPA friendly. Most of my engine work is illegal here in California. I have removed the carbon canister and my breather hose runs down to the ground instead of into the carburetor. If they ever get around to messing with us here on our modifications then I would hook up the carbon canister and attach the breather tube back to the carburetor. Then hope they don’t look too deeply beyond that! I’m pretty sure there have been previous discussions about the new EPA laws in previous threads. Oh yeah the Street Bob is one nice looking machine.

I'm going to take my chances here in CO with EPA. Might as well have fun with the new ride. I'll check out the link you gave me.
