Post '02 Road King FLHR Speedometer

Does anyone know what would cause the speedometer to go erratic, and the turn signal auto shut-off to stop working and ultimately the check engine light to come on and suddenly start idling rough and dying at low RPMs?
I have cleaned the speed sensor but problem continues after approximately 70 miles if riding. It was suggested that the ECM might be going bad but they also said that I would probably have occassional problems starting the engine if that was the case but I have had none. After the engine cools down, everything will work fine for another 50 miles or so and it begins again.
I was guessing that the wiring may be damaged and is getting hot and ultimately causing an electrical problem through the circuitry which may affect the EFI. HD has not been able to answer so I am in a desperate mode before I have to pay the $$$ for a new ECM which may not even be the problem.

Sounds like you may have more than one problem. The turn signal/speedometer problem may be the turn signal module. The running rough sounds like vacuum leak. Take Care and Ride Safe.
