Default Stage IV conversion

Has anyone done the Stage IV conversion? I just did it to my 2000 FLSTF and it is wonderfull. Break in is done and the 30,000 mile service is done. YaaaaHooo I'm ready to ride. Did a Dyno run (not a Dyno Tune) and it's not to shabby. I must remember I'm Old and reactions are not what they were when I was a Kid. What was that saying, "There are Old Riders and Bold Riders but no Old Bold Riders" Wait I think that was Old Pilots and Bold Pilots. Anyway it WRX for me.

Only done the Stage 1 . Want my engine to last a lot longer then the way the EPA makes the factory choke it down . Wife says I did it for the noise . All my Shovels had straights so I wonder where she gets that idea from <G>. The Samson Fish Tails gives it the old time look and can control the sound by the amount of rpm's in each gear incase cops are around . Don't have the Pony Tail anymore , in fact , don't have much hair anymore . Still young at heart even though I ride a "Gezzer Glide" ...Raymond

I've been thinking about a Gezzer Glide myself. I'm old enough.

Hey, it has nothing to do with age..... It has to do with "Am I worth it?" or even better, and in my case....."Do I want to keep my Kidneys and Fillings until I die?"

I was 33 when I took delivery of my Road Commode. Damned if people didn't start crap about...."He's ridin' his Pappy's bike.", "Why would someone that young ride a Garbage Barge?", and stuff like that.

That Stage IV, does that only apply to the Evo, or can it be done to a TC as well?

The Stage IV I had installed was on the TC88b, Polished and ported heads, forged High Comp pistons, 95 inch jugs and a 211 cam. Dyno run was inpressive. I did not opt for the Dyno Tune as it is expensive per hour and lots of parts to swap around like carbs, cams, ect. HP at rear tire with stock carb rejeted was 95 hp and the torque was 104 foot lbs at 3500 to 4000 RPM. The SE ign is set to keep the engine from Pinging and burning up pistions and max out at 6200 RPM. Never have taken it that high yet. The Thunder Header is so loud at high RPM that car alarms go off 2 blocks away. Police Also start looking for the motor that is disturbing the peace so you must find a remote location which is not easy here in Yuppie Land. Must get quiter pipes if I'm going to keep riding. Even Ear Plugs don't help anymore.

I've got a 2k FLHTCi, and eventually am looking to build a quality Rat motor for it. Right now, the stock is okay, but there is no substitute for CI's. Been drooling over that Zippers' 107" kit, but no joy for FUEL INFECTION. Oh well, I continue to look for the best way to optimize my motors ability for producing gobs of torque and a few xtra ponies, but not a the expense of quality of ride or lifestyle (Wife controls the money).

I hear ya, Every once in a while like once or more per day, I take back my pants and ride. (who wares pants rules in this family).

If ya like Cubes, check out Jims as they have a 116 inch, 130 hp mod for the TC88 motor that does not fit the TC88b motor due to restrictions from the balance cams. www.Jimsusa.com is the address. You might be impressed in what a little money in the right place will provide. Also if you go that direction, lookinto a 6 speed trany for increasing you gas milage at reasonable freeway speeds.

I am the Big Dawg in my house......... Too bad I've been neutered!

Went to the site, nice stuff. Still, I think that it will be awhile. BUT, just got off of the phone with the Chancellor of the Exchequer (Wife), and she said I can get the Big Bore on my ride...... Thank You Jesus...... With a hitch, she says......I have to come home and STAY home EVERY WEEKEND!!!!

Now you know what my answer was, right..........

The Dyno Run (not tune) was 105 Ftlbs of torque and 96 HP at the rear tire. Now I'm not sure of the duration of the cam but it is the HD 211 cam. I passed on the offer of 257 Cam. I think the 211 or 257 cam number has to due with the duration but not sure. The Pistons are Forged 10.5 to 1, Ign is the SE 6200 RPM special for High Compression to attempt to prevent pinging or the famous piston distroyer. The Jugs and pistons are 95 inch when using the stock stroke and Heads are the Stock heads that are ported and polished. I have been running the Thunder Header but that is going to be removed now as it is to crisp and harsh and I would like something with more reasonable tones and something I do not need to cram crap in my ears to ride. Gas milage is now at 65mph 40mpg and at 75 to 80 mpg at between 32 and 36 mpg depending on direction of the wind. I also added a oil cooler between the down tubes (HD part made by Jag).

I just completed a trip to Mississippi and back a total of just under 6000 miles and it was wonderful, the motor preformed without a mis-fire. No oil leaks, no hard starts, no overheating, nothing went wrong with the motor. I was loaded down with about 200 lbs of extra stuff Bags and such plus my ample 200 plus lbs. As for parts falling off is another thing. Seams vibrations are a little stronger now. As for the car flashing his lights at me on the freeway in New Orleans, I hope your front end is not damaged to bad when the rear foot peg fell off (2 to 3 pounds of iron and rubber-ouch).
