Default Home remedies?

Any good home remedies for the flu? I'm hurting bad here, and with more snow coming, I have a feeling I'm gonna get worse if I don't do something quick.

They say late Jan and Feb are the worst months for the flu. I think rest is the best medicine personally. Stay in bed and sweat that crap out!

Been going around here too. Myself, my girlfriend, and about 12 of the Patriots right now.

I agree that rest seems to be the best cure. I know that's all I was capable of doing when I had it.

Easy for it to spread when you're kissing all the time.

Red face A few tips...

Mongo, if your running a temp, please don't try to sweat it out under blankets. Wrong move. take cool showers or baths to bring down the temps. Use Advil or something simular for the aches and pains, take as directed, it's important! Gargal with Listerine at least 2 times a day, make it when ya get up and before ya go to bed,,, and as many times in between. This will keep the germs down in your mouth hopefully preventing any of the virus from settling in your teeth, and jaw... been there done that and it sucks.

Do get as much rest as you can... sleep is the best thing you can do for your body, it is working overtime without pay to fight off the nasty bug, so be good to it and sleep, sleep, sleep. Do drink as many fluids as you can... if ya get tired of drinking your fluids then start eating jello... it works just as well as drinking water or gatoraid, but it takes a lot. Drinking water will help to flush out the body... it's gonna need the flushing... beleive me. it also keeps ya hydrated... important for those crime fighting cells to do their work and seek out the bad guys and kill em.
Hope your feeling better soon Mongo,
L&R

Just tried something last weekend. Cold Eeeze, they are like Halls, take them at the onset of the cold. Really minimized the duration and severity of my cold.

I think cold eeeze has zinc in it. I tried some other stuff called Zicam (again, I think it contains zinc) in Jan. when I felt a cold coming on. You spray it in your mouth (tastes pretty bad) and I'll be damned if I didn't kick the cold in 2 days. My kid just came down with a cold, so I have him using it. I'll see if it works the same magic on a teenager. Anyway, I hate getting sick, and I'll try pretty much anything that promises to get rid of it. Also good to load up on vitamin C. 2000mg/day.
