Default Lone Star Bike Rally

The first annual Lone Star Bike Rally was held this past weekend on Galveston Island (thur-sun). I rode down sat morning in a group of 30 bikes from Baytown, we all stayed Sat nite and rode home Sun. evening. We had a great time, the event was held on the Strand, a historical section of downtown similar to Bourbon Street in New Orleans. Strand ave, and the adjacent side streets were blocked off to cagers, and only bikes were allowed on the streets. It was a non-stop party all weekend long. The weather was beautiful, Galveston officials estimated the number of bikers at 110,000, not too bad for the first time this rally was held. Organizers hope this rally will grow each year to rival Daytona, or Sturgis (quite a goal !!). Anyway, it will be held the last weekend of September each year, so maybe some of you guy's (and gals) can ride down next year.....it was a great time.
