Auto or relocate shifter away from left foot?
Hello. This is my 2nd post on this forum. I was approached by a coworker who knows I'm into bikes...he asked if there were any bikes that were automatics or shifted with something other than the left foot. He has range of motion/mobility issues with his left foot. He has ridden in the past, but his foot has gotten worse. Also, he's relatively small-statured, so I imagine a smaller lighter bike would be best for him. He mentioned a Kawi Ninja 250. I know some cruisers have had some sort of hand-shifting arrangement, I believe just an extension from the toe shifter. Not sure how that would translate to a sportier bike. I told him the only automatics I was aware of were scooters. Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks very much,
Tim

Check out the Hondamatics. Clutchless operation and neutral, low and high range. Many seem to just use them in one gear depending on their situation.
I have the CM400A. They were offered in 79-81. I think they offered the CM450A's in 82-83. There were also CB400A's and CB750A's.
Some talk down the 400's as too small but it works great for me.
